2nd February 2016
Attendees: MG, CK, JK, MC
1. It was suggested by JK that we advertise the PPG meetings in the Reception area also in Boots and Anna Pharmacy.
2. Wandle Valley Surgery has now closed. The last day was on 31st December 2015. We were originally asked to take between 100 - 200 of their patients, but after a meeting with the CCG and NHS England we were advised to continue to register their patients and have now taken approx 300.
3. We have now had to make a decision that we can no longer keep patients that have moved out of the area.
4. JK requested that we ask the cleaners if they can leave more space between the rows of chairs in reception as it is very difficult for patients, especially disabled patients to sit in the seats comfortably.
5. We are hoping to have the chairs removed from under the staircase, this will allow space for parents to leave their buggy’s.
6. The PTA system which is used for booking patients transport is never working correctly, Janet will raise this alert at the next PRG meeting. Although we can e mail booking forms to them.
7. MG will e mail the PRG to find out when the next meeting will be and let JK know.
8. HC will add the minutes of the Patient Participation group meeting to the surgery website.
Date of next PPG meeting is on Tuesday 5th April at 12.30
5th October 2016
Attendees: MG, CK, JK, EK, MC, HS, DM
1 . We have tried to introduce more patients to the Patient Participation Group Meetings by advertising in the local chemists and also attaching information to patients prescriptions.
2. We are waiting for the CQC to come back for a re-visit between November and January to assess the issues that we have to address.
3. Next month we will be participating in an antibiotic awareness week, JK said that she would be happy to come into the surgery to hand out leaflets to the patients on this subject.
4.Controlled drugs will not be prescribed online; the request will have to be given into reception.
5. With regards to booking appointments early in the mornings, patients who come into the surgery at 7am cannot be seen until 8am, they are asked to take a seat and wait until 8am when the phones are switched over, as this will be unfair to patients who are ringing the surgery for an appointment.
6.Notice Boards will be checked for out of date notices.
7.We are having a new calling board fitted by Emis. The check in screen will remain the same.
8. We have an on going issue with the chairs in reception being put to close together by the cleaners. We are going to ask the reception staff to check the chairs each morning.
9.JK requested that staff name badges should be put on display and not covered by clothing.
10.CK to download blood donor leaflet and literature to display in Reception.
Date of next meeting : Thurs 8th December 2016 at 12.30 - Dr Said to supply Mince Pies!
15th December 2016
Attendees: MG, CK, MC, JK, DS
1. New Screen Calling Board - We now have a new calling board. It was noticed that the PPG advertisement disappears very quickly before it can be read properly. We will ask Hollie to have a look at it. Some of the advertisements are pre-set.
2. Clinical Commissioning Group/ GP questionnaire - The CCG have been into the surgery on several occasions over the last few weeks, they are helping us to prepare for our next CQC visit. We have a questionnaire that we will be handing out to patients called GPAQ, this questionnaire is focusing more on the GPs consultations. Once we have the results we will download them onto the surgery website. The CQC presented us with a list of improvements on their last visit that need to be addressed regarding adult/child safeguarding, complaints and significant events and all these have been addressed. The staff have taken part in online and in house training with regards to Safeguarding
3, PRG group meeting for 2017. -JK said that she is happy to continue to represent us at the PRG meetings.
4. It was discussed that some patients were not getting prescriptions on time when requested through the online service. We will look into this problem.
5.JK shared concerns regarding repeat dispensing. We will check with the prescribing administrator about how she is aware when the patients 6 monthly prescriptions are due from the chemist.
6. Patients can access their results from the surgery. ID must be shown and there is a form to be completed at the reception. We will see if this can be advertised on the new calling board.
7.The Wilson walk in centre and the Wilson Hospital are both closing down. The walk in centre has 1800 patients that will need to be registered with other surgeries in the area.
8. It was suggested that it would be a good idea if one of the receptions/nurses/doctors and possibly a parent from one of the local schools attended the PPG meetings.
